Marina Tavolaro

About

Marina is a PhD student from the Institute for Communities and Wildlife in Africa (iCWild) at University of Cape Town (SA) and focuses her research on conservation conflicts in Namibian communal conservancies. She holds a MSc by research from Bristol University (UK) and aBSc (Hons) in Zoology from the University of Aberdeen (UK). She recently worked for two years as a consultant at the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations and previously worked as a researcher on the wildlife-livestock interface in southern Africa at Onderstepoort (University of Pretoria). She has also spent several months in the field with Elephants for Africa in the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park (Botswana) and was a group leader for treks up Mt Kilimanjaro (Tanzania) and Mt Everest base camp (Nepal).
